Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

This statement is made on behalf of Haus of Hiatus in accordance with Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and supply chains.

Our Business

Hiatus is a digital design and technology studio delivering web, product, and creative solutions to clients globally. Our operations are primarily service-based, with a distributed network of collaborators and suppliers.

Our Commitment

We are committed to conducting business ethically and with integrity. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, and human trafficking.

We are dedicated to ensuring that our business practices, and those of our partners, reflect respect for human rights and dignity.

Our Supply Chains

Our supply chains are relatively low risk and typically include:

  • Digital service providers

  • Independent contractors and creatives

  • Software and infrastructure providers

Despite this, we recognise that risks may still exist and take a proportionate approach to managing them.

Due Diligence and Risk Management

To mitigate the risk of modern slavery, we:

  • Conduct appropriate checks when engaging suppliers and collaborators

  • Work with partners who share our commitment to ethical standards

  • Avoid relationships where there are credible concerns regarding labour practices

We prioritise transparency, accountability, and long-term trusted partnerships.

Policies and Governance

We embed ethical considerations into our decision-making and expect all individuals and organisations we work with to operate in line with applicable laws and standards, including the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Training and Awareness

We promote awareness of modern slavery risks within our business and ensure that those representing Hiatus.digital understand the importance of ethical conduct and responsible sourcing.

Reporting and Whistleblowing

We encourage open communication and support anyone who raises concerns in good faith. Any suspected instances of modern slavery or unethical conduct will be taken seriously and investigated appropriately.

Continuous Improvement

We recognise that preventing modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We will continue to review and strengthen our processes to ensure alignment with best practice and legal obligations.
